Meet the Makers
Kutani-yaki is a traditional craft characterized by vivid designs and the use of five distinctive colors which makes it a favorite of people throughout the world for over 350 years. Seikou Kiln opened their kiln in 1930 in the Terai-cho, Ishikawa Prefecture, and have continued to this day with the aim of creating more contemporary Kutani ware that takes advantage of historical painting styles. The designer devotes himself to creating elegant and profound crafts based on the unique color tones developed through decades of research.
