When East End Press made the decision to partner with printers, crafts people and manufacturers overseas their first concern was creating a working relationship with people that was ethical and fair, where everyone in the supply chain was respected and paid a fair wage. The connotations of importing from Asian countries are generally not good, due to the risk of exploiting people not protected by European minimum wages and safe labor laws. East End Press is committed to respecting everyone involved in the production of it’s products and does not work with companies or manufacturers unless it is proven that workers rights are respected; no children are ever involved in the production process, and workers are paid at least the national minimum wage for their role. All factories East End Press works with are independently audited and belong to SEDEX, an international organization that is dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices in global supply chains.
East End Press knows that buying ethically is important to consumers and they are proud to say you can buy in confidence, safe in the knowledge that traditional crafts, and talented crafts people, are being supported by your purchase and that everyone in the production of your product is working in a safe, comfortable environment and is being paid fairly for their part in the process.
The folks at East End Press are keen to keep their products sustainably made and this is something they are always working on. All paper used in their products and packaging is made from recycled materials. All ink is water based non-toxic ink.
