When Paper Message celebrated its 14th anniversary in September 2024 they released new illustrated items including the fun Bird House design featured in this unusual square letter set! ☆彡  The letter paper is made with warm, tactile paper that perfectly complements the illustrations. The border design adds a lively touch as your words will be surrounded by the image of the guinea fowl and chickens running around on the ground. The vertical envelope features an illustration of a tree and bird printed in orange ink making the recipient instantly smile. The letter paper fits perfectly in the envelope when folded in half. There are even four stickers that can be used as a seal.

Perfect for writing and sending letters, or as a gift.

We love a fun story and this letter set has one for sure. Walking on the ground near the Paper Message headquarters are the Tosa Jiro, a specialty of Takachi City, a guinea fowl, which becomes increasingly mysterious and fascinating the more you look at it, and colorful Cochin chickens.

The images on the letter set capture big trees with small bird houses, a ladder that someone used, and a handmade swing. You might ask: Who built the bird house? What kind of person is on the swing? The designer at Paper Message hopes you will enjoy looking at it while imagining all sorts of things.

Meet the Makers

Paper Message is my absolute favorite stationery store in the entire world. It was started by a printing company in Kochi where the first store opened in 2009 to convey the fun and possibilities of paper and printing to as many customers as possible. I stumbled upon it during our visit in 2017 and fell immediately in love. In 2012 a store was opened in Kichijoji, Tokyo, (the absolute cutest neighborhood in Tokyo) where the store offers a variety of paper-related services, including the sale of original products and custom printing. Each store is like a stationery lovers dream and designed in a whimsical fantastical way. The design of the Pink Moon Goods is very much inspired by my visits to Paper Message.

Artist Okubojunko began working as a freelance illustrator and designer in her teens. Since 2010, she has been involved in planning, illustrating and designing paper goods for Paper Message. She is also involved in a variety of other activities, including live events with musicians, animation production, picture books and venue decorations.
