Bird House | A6 Thread-Bound Notebook

If you look closely, you will see that this Bird House A6 notebook features an illustration pattern of many birds, such as Tosa Jiro and guinea fowl. There are even some birds hiding in the tree trunks. In the big tree there is a small bird house, a ladder that someone has used, and a handmade swing. The artists invites you to ask questions about the mysterious image. Who set up the bird house? What kind of person is on the swing?

The Bird House notebook by Paper Message is a handy pocket size and has the delightful quality of adorable illustrations printed in light blue ink on the grid pages inside. It is thread-bound, and the color of the thread is chosen according to the outer design. The cover uses textured paper called First Vintage. You can use it as a diary or idea book, or paste your favorite clippings and have fun with it

Meet the Makers

Paper Message is my absolute favorite stationery store in the entire world. It was started by a printing company in Kochi where the first store opened in 2009 to convey the fun and possibilities of paper and printing to as many customers as possible. I stumbled upon it during our visit in 2017 and fell immediately in love. In 2012 a store was opened in Kichijoji, Tokyo, (the absolute cutest neighborhood in Tokyo) where the store offers a variety of paper-related services, including the sale of original products and custom printing. Each store is like a stationery lovers dream and designed in a whimsical fantastical way. The design of the Pink Moon Goods is very much inspired by my visits to Paper Message.

Artist Okubojunko began working as a freelance illustrator and designer in her teens. Since 2010, she has been involved in planning, illustrating and designing paper goods for Paper Message. She is also involved in a variety of other activities, including live events with musicians, animation production, picture books and venue decorations.
