Pigeon Posted: a beautifully crafted combination of letter and envelope

You don't have to hang out for very long in the Pink Moon Goods universe to learn that I am a big fan of letter writing. Some of you may even be smiling with the knowledge that you have been the recipient of a letter from yours truly. One of my favorite things to shop for is stationery and I have a pretty decent stash of all types at home so that I always have the perfect card, envelope, washi tape, or tiny card on standby (a practice I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I inherited from my mother).

I have been a long time fan of any stationery that is designed specifically for letter writing. One of my all time favorites is the letter writing sets that are common in Japanese stationery. You can check out our collection here. My absolute favorite thing about these letter sets is that the envelopes included in each set are printed on both sides of the outside which makes it instantly fun to receive in the mail Add some washi tape and you will be sending someone a little surprise in the mail that will make their heart leap with joy. I guarantee.

Adding the Pigeon Posted Origami Letter to the inventory at both shops was a total no brainer for me. This beautifully crafted combination of letter and envelope inspired by origami is right up my alley. Each set comes with six pre-folded pages that open up to a blank area for writing a letter. Once the letter is written you fold the page back up neatly until it becomes an envelope which you seal closed using a stamp. When I send one I will also add a little washi tape to the outer edges just for extra protection and added cuteness factor.

Each box of Pigeon Posted includes six different designs within a theme. This is really exciting to me as sometimes when I buy a box of notecards I get a little bored of the same pattern. For those who share my silly boredom these boxes will make you very happy. Each one has a different color or pattern combo so each letter will feel new and exciting.

When a lucky person receives this letter in the mail it will be like a journey to unfold and discover the letter hidden deep within the origami folds of every Pigeon notecard. As you can from this image above that journey will include lots of lovely imagery.

Don't worry if you forget how to refold it. There are instructions included on the inside of the box.

Note: I did inquire with the creators of Pigeon Posted about how these process through USPS. The feedback I received mentioned that in most cases they go through the machines just fine although they have had one be returned to sender on a rare occasion. So rest assured. Your adorable handwritten letter will make it's way to your loved one.

A more satisfying alternative to the always-on, instant-gratification tools we all use to communicate with each other every day. Because in spite of all our hi-tech wizardry, this is the funnest, easiest way to send a beautiful letter in the mail. Find your favourite pen, a spot in the sunshine, and gently unfold the gorgeously illustrated paper to reveal the perfect frame for your thoughts, and a beautifully different way to show you're thinking of someone.
