Ever since I have lived in Dayton I have heard stories about the Arcade and how much it meant to folks who grew up in the Dayton Region. Old and young had fond memories and lamented its demise. Around 2010 the building was opened for tours and I will admit at that time I was skeptical it would ever come back to life. But here we are, 16 years later and the Arcade is seeing a complete and total revival which means that Downtown Dayton has it's heart back. I could not be more honored and thrilled to be a small part of creating a special place for future memory building. The North Arcade has been lovingly restored and we have created a very special tiny version of Pink Moon Goods for YOU!
The two main questions I am getting are: what will change at your Huffman shop and are you physically going to still be at your shop in Huffman. The short answer is: nothing and yes. This little shop on the corner of a thriving historic neighborhood is not going anywhere. It is truly the home of Pink Moon Goods that I always envisioned. I have no intentions of leaving this space. The answer to the second question is YES! I will still be here in Huffman most days. At the moment the plan is for me to be at the North Arcade on Thursdays. But on the other days of the week the lovely Angie will be welcoming you at Pink Moon Goods, too. I have enjoyed growing my team but I still love being here and greeting you all and chatting with you in the shop and that will not change unless you visit on Thursday!
The last question to answer is what products will be in the North Arcade shop? The best way for me to explain what will be stocked at the Arcade shop is to tell you that it will be light, flat items. Items that appeal to a traveler or someone visiting the Arcade for an event. No heavy big items will be stocked at Pink Moon Goods, too. So if you have your heart set on something that you saw on our website please visit the Huffman shop as that is the shop that all website inventory will be located. If you are looking for a card, a date snack, a totebag, a bar of soap, a notebook or our favorite Uniball pen then we can help you at the North Arcade.
And and and...we do have a couple of exclusive local items at the North Arcade. You will find in the corner of the shop an entire shelving unit featuring the lovely works of Riley Street Merchants. Sam creates beautifully printed linens and stationery as well as some fun art prints and various other items. She has longed for a place to sell her wares and she has finally found it.
We will also be offering Sugarcamp bandanas at Pink Moon Goods, too. Val has truly created a beautiful brand that is progressive and daring and righteous and we are excited to share her bandanas with you at this new little shop.
