Pink Moon Goods is Anti-Hate

No matter what day, month, or year it is Pink Moon Goods has always been and will always be anti-hate. To make it clear: hate is when you think that someone doesn't deserve the same respect, dignity, rights, freedom and love that you think is your right. If you are working to keep anyone from living their full life with all the perks of being a human on this planet, then you are living in and perpetuating hate.

If you follow me on social media you know that I don't share very often about my political views but any time I do share I always put a call out for folks that feel differently than me to reach out for a conversation. The first time someone took me up on this offer honestly changed my life. Over the course of a few months I had multiple conversations with this person that helped me to become more understanding of folks with different views. At some point in that several months we both realized that we were not going to change one another's opinions on the matter but we continued to share and ask questions and learn from one another how our opinions were formed and why we felt the way we did.

Having these conversations right now is more than necessary. No matter what end of the belief spectrum we are on we need to find ways to better understand our neighbors, whether we like their opinions or not.

So, when I say anti-hate I truly mean that I don't hate you if you feel differently than I do. I want to understand why you feel that way and I want to help you understand why I feel the way I do so that we can move towards creating a world where we stop crusading against the rights of others.

So my plea to you during Pride month is to find ways to become super communicators. Author Charles Duhigg defines a supercommunication as a simple and tested method for communicating and connecting with anyone. ANYONE! Even someone you have been told to hate. If you are already on a path to understand folks around you better I definitely recommend listening to this podcast episode of "Here's Where It Gets Interesting", where Sharon McMahon interviews Mr. Duhigg. Find it here!

Starting today through Sunday I am donating 10% of proceeds from all sales to the Dayton LGBTQ+ Center's efforts to create the Q+ Youth Space. The Q+ Youth Center's vision is to establish and maintain a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth and families that is youth-informed and promotes individual growth and an increased sense of community. More than anyone, young people deserve a place to be where they are valued and treated with dignity. I am excited to see the development of this center in Dayton, Ohio.

If you want to support them in other ways you can visit their website here!

As always if something in this post/email makes you mad or sad please reach out and let's chat. Be the person that stands up and does the right thing so that we can all live happy, healthy, thriving lives. It just plain feels better. I guarantee you that it feels better to have love in your heart.
