Maeve is proud to ethically source chocolate from Peru, West Africa, Tanzania, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic; and they do everything they can to ensure that their supply chain is putting people and the planet first.
It’s imperative to Maeve that the farmers they work with are paid well and able to live quality lives. Whenever possible, as in Peru, Tanzania, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic, they directly source from the farmers who grow the beans used in their chocolate. Trading directly allows Maeve to cut out any middlepeople and personally ensure that farmers are paid fairly and able to thrive in this industry for years to come.
In locations where they aren’t able to work directly with farmers, Maeve is proud to source Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa. The Rainforest Alliance’s approach centers on helping farmers grow their businesses and become more profitable and resilient.
