Pink Moon Goods Shop Turns 3 (and 5)!

Our little shop turned three last week and would you believe it passed us by without noticing! But it's never too late to celebrate a Shopiversary. Today on the blog we wanted to showcase the changes in the shop that have happened from our very first ever pop-up to the first day we opened our doors and through to this week.

Here I am with my husband at my very first pop-up five years ago. In September 2020, when the world was changing dramatically all around us, I decided it was the right time to start a business. And it turns out it really was the right time. For me. For my shop. And for my city, Dayton.

Fast forward two years to the opening of our brick and mortar. Here I am on the first day packing this customer's goodies into our first Pink Moon Goods tote bags that we gifted to our customers at our Grand Opening.

This shot was taken today and showcases one thing that we offer that makes my little shop owner self so happy: locally grown flowers.

This is the view from the front desk area of the shop towards the front windows. You can see on the first day I had not yet solved what to do in the window.

Today the window is full and the tables in the middle are abundant. In this tiny space we have done everything we can to move up. In this image you really get a sense of why people in the shop say it takes a couple times around to see everything.

This wall is where we keep most of the cleaning supplies and brushes that we carry. Like most of the shop on the first day there was a bit of emptiness.

Where there was once empty space there is many adorable things, many handmade goods, and many many more brushes. Last count I think there was about 38 brushes total. Check out all of our brushes here!

The stationery corner has always been one of my favorite corners of the shop. This pictures was taken several months after we opened while I was thinking about changing things up a little.

We have so so so much more stationery in the shop now. And so so so much more washi tape! Check out our robust stationery collection here!

This was our Weck jar collection in the first days. You can also see that we explored carrying other types of glass jars but the Weck jars remained the favorite. See our collection of Weck jars here!

Just last week we finally accomplished our goal of building a new shelving unit for the Weck jars which gave us one whole extra shelf to store our cast iron wok and dutch ovens (not pictured as they are on order).

Of course we had to save the best shot for last. This was our Imabari towel section on our first day. We had a few tote bags but not much variety.

Today we have a much bigger selection of towels on a lovely handmade shelf (made by one of our favorite customers) and lots of tote bag options including our most recent edition, The Modern Witch tote bag (find it here!)

Three years has flown by and we can hardly believe that it's already been that long. I can't thank each and everyone of you enough for making my shopkeeper dreams come true. Every sigh, compliment, and smile assures me that I am spending my time well. If it makes you happy then I must be doing something right. I value the trust you put into me to find the best practical and beautiful goods for you and I look forward to many many more years of being in this spot and seeing your lovely faces walk through the door.
