Later, this area became an important smelting resource for Spain. Copper work remains an essential part of the local culture and economy. Care
These pieces are not lacquered, so they are food safe. That said, this means that the pieces will naturally tarnish with handling and exposure to moisture. To clean them, one can use simple kitchen staples like lemon with salt or baking soda or a specialized copper polishing cream. In order to maintain the integrity of the finish and material, these pieces cannot be washed in the dishwasher. They should be cleaned by hand with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, then dried thoroughly to keep them shiny. These spoons will naturally darken over time, as is the way with copper.
