Meet the Maker

T. Ruth is the design studio of my good friend Traci Zelles, a multi media artist living in a small town on the Pacific Northwest. Traci has been a seamstress, knitter, paper mâché-er, painter, and even a ceramicist for a short period. She has made quilts and sculptures, paper mâché mobiles, weavings on branches, knit dozens of hats, carved stamps, and two amazing people who are now grown ups. Also, for a decade while her children were young, she was the owner and operator of a wonderful children’s resale clothing store where she handmade up-cycled clothes and curated an adorable space full of colorful and useful children’s items. After selling it in 2015 she quickly found her new love of art journaling and spent the last eight years journaling her beautiful heart out. Along the way while working various jobs, she started a side hustle of painting wood art pieces and making driftwood creations. Recently she learned to create surface patterns from her art journaling and wood illustrations and is now following her dream of designing fabric and wrapping paper!
