Meet the Makers

Asano Mokkousho was founded in 1950 in the Tsubame-Sanjo area of Niigata Prefecture, famous for its metal work, by Teisuke Asano, son of a farmer, and Sakae Sasagawa, daughter of a Tokyo manufacturer. This union that combined rural and metropolitan values proved to be the foundation for this new company. All products produced by Asano Mokkousho are based on Teisuke's wish to make farmer's lives easier and Sakae's love of nature and her desire to help others who share this love. 

Today, Asano Mokkousho produces a wide variety of tools from hoes and sickles to domestic gardening tools and outdoor utility knives. Although the range of products has increased dramatically, the original products are still manufactured by this company that clings to its dedication to hard work and quality inherited from the founders. They continue to design and distribute products based on the needs of their customers. They believe that listening to the voices of the their customers and satisfying their needs is of utmost importance.
