Cup of Therapy Animal | Washi Tape

Colorful and simple, washi tape can be torn by hand and is easy to reposition. The tape can be used on paper, objects and walls. Washi tape is ideal for temporary decoration, for tiny objects to entire rooms, and for ordinary or special occasions throughout the day, from sealing a lunch bag to making a wrapped gift look special.  Not only that but it is made from paper so it is biodegradable and compostable.  

Cup Of Therapy is a small dose of encouragement, comfort, and hope. A moment to connect around the universal mental well-being themes touching us all. The works are created as a result of the psychotherapist Antti Ervasti’s and illustrator Matti Pikkujämsä’s deep conversations and feelings, being an essential part of their lifestyle to make mental health visible.  The relatable animal character illustrations free us from our habituated or learned roles. The unique hand-drawn black and white animal figures can also open up new perspectives, create a human connection and give room for everyone's own reflection and interpretation.

Meet the Makers
MT is the original brand of washi paper masking tape, created by the 100 year old paper adhesives company Kamoi Kakoshi and produced in Japan.   In 2006, the company offered a tour to three women in Tokyo who were using their industrial tapes for beautiful craft projects.  Amazed by this surprising and wonderful usage, Kamoi Kakoshi was inspired to develop an entirely new and original category of tape: MT brand washi tape.  The superior level of ‘just right’ adhesion allows MT to be easily repositioned on most objects and to be used on painted walls without damaging paint.
